I recently received a working power supply from my friend and some other working parts. I have been using this PC with a non PSU power Graphics Card since I didn't have the proper cable to connect a Graphics Card. I finally got a 6 Pin PCI-E Male to Male which is what the Antec Neo 550 use for modular parts. So I took the old Graphics Card out and replaced it with the new one.
I plugged the cable into the power supply and it did not work. I unplugged everything and rearranged the cables a couple times. Still no hope. The Motherboard light will come one. So I grabbed the other PSU I have and plugged it in. It works and the system boots.
I cant figure out what the problem is. The other power supply is 530 Wats max and 550 Watts on the Antec.Antec Neo HE550. These cables are hard to find and now. I read over 6 Antec manuals involving this model and alike hoping it will help. It uses 6 pin PCI-E as the modular. The part description of this Wire is 60 cm PC I Express connector w/cable.
It had pictures in the manual and I was pretty sure it was the right cable. It also describes the cable as 3 yellow wires and three black and that is what the cable exactly looks like. This is not the original cable from the manufacture. It will still boot when I take the power out so it is not dead.
This is the part I bought 6 Pin Male to 6-Pin Male PCI-E GPU Power Extension Cable - 24' 2' 60 cmOK, then there is your issue you are not using the proper cable you needit may look similar, but it is obviously not working so it is not wired the same waycontact antec directly and buy the proper cable for that specific model.
